Intown is a term we Atlantans use to refer to the city’s core, an area composed of centrally located neighborhoods such as Downtown and Midtown.
Depending on whom you ask, Intown can also include areas such as Buckhead, Cabbagetown, Decatur, Edgewood, Grant Park, Virginia-Highland, and West End. Or it can refer to everything inside the I-285 (aka “the Perimeter”).
No matter how you define it, we can give you a lot of reasons to move to Intown Atlanta.

Boasting the 10th largest economy in the US, Atlanta was ranked the 6th best city for job seekers in 2017 by NerdWallet. Most Fortune 1000 companies maintain a presence here, including numerous multinational corporations, and quite a few businesses have offices intown.
This makes areas like Buckhead and Midtown great for young professionals wanting to be close to both vibrant urban amenities and employers. While neighborhoods like Virginia-Highland offer peaceful streets and room to grow as well as a close proximity to Downtown.
The city’s diverse economy means that finding a job can be relatively easy (the unemployment rate dropped to just 4% in the first quarter of this year). The city’s biggest employers include Delta Airlines, Emory University, and Emory Healthcare.

Buckhead features both luxury homes and condos, while Druid Hills, home of Emory University, boasts many of Atlanta’s most beautiful estates. Decatur is charmingly historic and offers plenty of renovated properties.
